David Kennard has been a member of Portfolio Resident Services (PRS) since 2016 and currently serves as Community Services Director for the Houston South region. David oversees a team of regional and on-site service coordinators to offer support and help maximize their talents, continuing to spread the message that serving others comes first. He also helps build relationships with community partners, connecting them with residents who can benefit from their knowledge and resources. Above all, he makes sure residents are supported in their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

David loves his job; he enjoys being able to nurture the growth of others, assist them in different ways and help bring out the best in people, but it’s not his only passion. Before joining PRS, David earned his Associates Degree in Computer Science and worked for multiple tech companies. Most recently, he had the privilege of migrating data for Houston ISD and installing new computers district-wide.

Drawn to PRS and its mission, David was initially hired on as a Resident Service Coordinator in Hitchcock, Texas. A short time later, he took on a regional position before being promoted to his current role. What began as a flexible job during college has become a long-term, fulfilling career.

While he is proud of his growth here at PRS, David’s biggest accomplishment is becoming a loving husband and a father to three beautiful daughters. Alongside his career and family, serving as an ordained minister and elder at his church is something that drives him to become better each day.

Outside of work, David loves to cook for his family, always the first to fire up the BBQ pit or a pot of gumbo and often assisting with his family’s catering business. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, reading and listening to podcasts.
