With nearly a decade of experience in recruiting, Nynette Ruvalcaba joined Portfolio Resident Services (PRS) in 2019. As Human Resources Recruiter, she enjoys the opportunity to help find the right candidate and place them in a position that is both fulfilling and rewarding.

Nynette’s first interview at PRS was when she began to feel a connection to the organization’s mission. She describes a gut feeling that this was where she needed to be. Years later, she speaks of her coworkers as great people with good hearts and believes she couldn’t have found a better fit.

It can be a big job to find that one special person who can make a difference for each community. Due to her extensive experience, Nynette has been able to support the PRS team through its considerable growth, implementing a new applicant tracking system, revamping job descriptions and improving the screening process for the recruiting department, helping to create a seamless process for applicants. 

One of Nynette’s favorite aspects of her job is interacting with others, as well as seeing the progress of a new hire as they create an impact within their community, knowing that she played a part in their growth and achievement. She also appreciates the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, especially as a mother of two young children.

At home, she loves spending quality time with her family, including her high school-sweetheart and husband, along with their son and daughter. Nynette, who speaks both English and Spanish, also enjoys running, spending time at the beach or in the sun, and listening to podcasts.
